Every year, the Association supports thousands of New Zealanders as they adjust to life living with Tourette Syndrome, or when supporting a family member or individual with Tourette Syndrome. The vision remains as it has since its inception - that one day the world will be a safe and welcoming place for those living with Tourette Syndrome.
Due to the growth of its membership and the scope of the advocacy work that it does with schools, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health, the Association is now looking to strengthen its board to usher in an exciting new phase of growth and development.
The TANZ Board currently comprises four (4) members. Due to the growth of the organisation, we are currently looking to appoint three (3) new board members to increase the board to seven (7) members.
The Executive Director of TANZ sits on the board with non-voting rights.
The Association is looking for individuals with some or all of the following qualities:
• Previous governance experience
• Proven strategic thinking capability
• Legal/Regulatory experience
• Financial Literacy
• Fundraising experience
• Networking capabilities
• NFP knowledge or experience
The board vacancies may be suitable to those with limited governance experience, who are able to demonstrate a track record of sound judgement and effective decision making.
