We're looking for friendly volunteers to deliver meals (from our Cowles Stadium pick up point), to surrounding suburbs including Brighton, South Brighton, North Beach, Parklands, Aranui, Burwood and Linwood.
Shifts start and end at the Cowles Stadium pick up point, the pickup time is 11.10a.m. Mon - Friday. We do offer a contribution towards petrol. If you are available once a week, fortnight, month or even as an on- call driver, we would love to hear from you.
Min age 18 years. Valid driver's licence. Vehicle with valid registration (rego) and warrant of fitness (WoF). Two character references. We’ll train you in how to carry out the role and you’ll be supported by Red Cross volunteers or staff members.
Meals on Wheels volunteer onboarding may take anywhere between 2-6 weeks depending on your availability and the availability of the local coordinator. NZ Police response time can vary from a few days to about a month after we submit the Police Vet request.
You'll need to follow our Health, Safety and Wellbeing policies and procedures, which will be advised during training.
Currently we have a permanent space fortnightly on a Wednesday. Also space for relief drivers
Meal pick-up time is 11:10am Monday to Friday. A shift usually takes 60-90 minutes to complete. Dates are flexible and can fit into your availability.
