About CBST:
Christchurch Budget Service Trust (CBST) invites you to be a part of our volunteer team as "My Mates." We are
seeking individuals to directly support clients in two impactful programmes:

  1. CBST Building Financial Capability + (BFC+): supports struggling self-employed traders
  2. Kaimahi-CBST Programme: provides support for employment and self-employment
    Role Overview:
    As a "My Mate," you will play a vital role in clients' lives:
    ✓ Provide cultural and social insights, ensuring clear understanding of program content and expectations.
    ✓ Assist with accessing professional services and enhancing skills like customer service and sales.
    ✓ Offer support for a minimum of 6 months in their job or business journey.
Requirements:

We are looking for individuals who:
✓ Are fluent in English and possibly another language spoken by diverse communities.
✓ Understand the challenges of self-employment or micro-businesses in New Zealand.
✓ Can provide specialized support for struggling businesses or self-employed individuals.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Offer support for a minimum of 6 months to participants in their job or business journey.
