We have found that the learners intend to practice their reading and writing - but do not. So, as a Literacy Coach, you will help the learners practice reading, writing, and spelling weekly, generally for an half hour to an hour either once or twice a week. We provide the training required to be able to coach students and create a personalised learning plan. You work together to develop goals and select materials and activities to help learners reach their goals. This role is very important, and by doing it, you can change an adult or teenager learners' lives and that of their family. You will be helping rural students/adult workers who are otherwise isolated learners to better their lives. By participating in this volunteering opportunity, you are helping achieve the following United Nations Sustainability Goals Goal 10 - Reduced inequalities
For volunteers with education backgrounds. Good computer skills. Excellent spoken English, reading and writing skills. Must be fluent in English (verbal and written). Reliable. An analytical mind, friendly personality. We train you and give you all the support you need.
1-2 hours weekly. This volunteer role offers flexibility but is more suited to a long term commitment and therefore not suitable for people who are looking for employment. However, we do have various short term roles available.
