On 2nd June 2022, our Outreach Manager, Glenda, enjoyed the first social networking get together post-covid with other local not for profits in our community. What a great opportunity to share experiences and support each other as we navigate the ever-changing community sector together.

A visit to Volunteering Mid & South Canterbury

On 1st June 2022, the VolCan team met up with the lovely team from Volunteering Mid & South Canterbury in Ashburton, to talk volunteering, collaboration and eat cake! 🎂 Great conversation, a zoom check-in with Volunteering New Zealand's Chief Executive, and, yes, a very fine cake!

Group Volunteers - TourPlan at Ronald McDonald House

On 5th May 2022, a team from TourPlan spent the evening preparing and serving dinner to families in Ronald McDonald House. What a massive undertaking, that made a huge difference to the families going through some really challenging times. Great work team, thank you!

Volunteers Respond to Omicron Outbreak

During the 2022 Omicron outbreak, we have been meeting regularly with a group which includes MSD, CDHB and CDEM, to identify (and then meet!) specific requirements for volunteers as part of the community response to Omicron. Volunteers we contacted as a result of this were often 'in action' within hours of our contact - here's a few preparing packs for those self-isolating at home. Thank you, thank you to everyone who played (and continues to play) a part in this response.
