On 8 February, our Board members came together for our first board meeting of 2022 - half attending online and half attending in person. In these interesting times for us all to be navigating we so appreciate these awesome people, volunteering their time and toiling away in the background to support our work and keep us on track 👍
In the week starting 29 November, we organised for students from Christs' College to volunteer at a variety of organisations around Christchurch, as part of their annual Service Week. This year, the boys helped out at Richmond Community Gardens, the SPCA, Estuary Trust, Keep NZ Beautiful, Haven Mountain Bike Park, the Summit Road Society, and Cultivate. What a fantastic effort from these young people, who carried out a huge amount of work and made a real difference to their community!
On 23 November, we were thrilled to receive four beautiful, high quality, customised masks for our team - generously made and donated to us by Shelley, from Recycle Recreate. Don't we look flash! Shelley has spent 11 years volunteering for her local community association and has donated masks to many neighbours, friends and locals that need them in her community. What a legend 💪 Thank you Shelley for supporting us, and for the awesome work you do towards a more sustainable future!
On 18 November, a second team from Ernst & Young Christchurch spent a day at Packe Street Community Garden undertaking general tidy up in the gardens and mulching around plants. Thank you team for your hard work and dedication, it really makes a difference!
On 17 November, a team of five from Ernst & Young Christchurch chose to use their Volunteer Leave to undertake a working bee at the SPCA Christchurch centre. The hard working participants prompted many positive comments from staff at the centre, who mentioned the tremendous work they had achieved with line trimming and gardening on the grounds. Thanks to this fantastic team for their awesome mahi!
