Carry containers are then returned to drop off point. There are several delivery runs and 6 volunteers are needed each day. Each run takes up to one hour. The runs can be done by one person, a couple or with another volunteer. Drivers are able to claim a modest reimbursement to assist with their vehicle running costs.
Drivers require a current driver's licence. Volunteers also need to complete an application form and agree to the New Zealand Red Cross Code of Conduct. A police check is also required.
